Another Firefox’s must have plugin for website designer and frequent blogger is FireShot. This plugin creates web snapshots in many options. The user can choose to capture the whole website or only their visible area (area that you see in your browser, which in this case must be FireFox). FireShot not only creates snapshots for websites but also can upload it into FireShot’s image hosting. This is a one stop solution for bloggers who doesn’t care where their images are stored as long as it is visible as visitors looking at their sites. In the beginning of year 2008, design communities are filled with great artworks and ideas. I recently updated the latest edition of Artzmania magazines from Spotbit.com. They currently published the collaborative editions, the new air to Artzmania magazines. You can browse to every page, artworks from different part of the world in a theme. PSD TUTS latest entries are also magnificent. The sites are growing rapidly with great tutorials presented in high quality. Smashing Magazines had also released great articles as always, people keep saying their “I’m-proud-to-be-part-of-smashing-magazines” post in their blog or website. Most Firefox users download different kind of extensions (plugin/add-ons) for certain purpose. Just name the purpose: Social Networking, RSS readers, Mail Notifier, Bookmarking, Downloading, Chatting, and many more. I bet you ~as a firefox user, and if you aren’t, quickly join us)~ are confused to choose which extensions is suited for your needs. You should know the pros and cons of every extension as they weren’t created by Gods. You can’t just stumble all the extensions to your Firefox because it will decrease the performance (I won’t run a browser which make me wait 2 minutes to open a new window). I just used Photoshop CS3 for about 2 months or so until I finally figured out that Photoshop CS3 can’t open an animated GIF properly. As I thought, the matters are already up from the time this product released, it is already discussed in the Photoshop support forum. I don’t know whether Adobe takes this as a small flaw or serious matter, but they do have a reply… which makes us (their customer) a little bit disappointed.

This week’s focus is about web design directories. It could be a directory of designer’s website or website design. Website designers from all over the world creating a lot of request from their clients in regular basis. Most of the design are just “given away” without proper acknowledgment from the public. That’s why in recent trends, web designers submit their websites to web directories to gain more network by sharing portfolios. This method would also help designers in finding inspiration from other designer’s work. In some cases, it will be the source of motivation for achieving high standard in web designs.
